The only North American city to make the top 50, New York City fell seven spots; Moscow retained the top spot for the third consecutive year, followed by Tokyo and London. For residents around the globe, the Big Apple is looking more and more like a big bargain.
On a list of the world’s most expensive cities to live in, New York City fell seven spots to No. 22, according to a cost-of-living survey from human resources consulting firm Mercer, a subsidiary of Manhattan-based Marsh & McLennan Cos.
New York was the only North American city to breach the top 50. Los Angeles ranked at No. 55, down 13 spots from 2007; Miami landed at No. 75, falling from No. 51; and Washington, D.C. hit No. 107, down from 85. More at: [Crain's]
